On Thursday, November 11, 2021 Black Child Development Institute-Milwaukee Affiliate held its 24th Annual meeting (virtually) to present their 2021 accomplishments and their plans for 2022. During the meeting BCDI-Milwaukee also elected new board members to serve a two-year term. Those members included the following: Attorney Eric Andrews, Bria Grant, Judge Michael Hanrahan, Lori Lutz, Dr. Jendyl Mbalia, PhD, Bailey Murph, Jeffrey Roman, Dr. Annette Stokes and Dea Wright. They will join existing board members, Dr. Michele Turner, PhD, Dawn Shelton-Williams, Pastor Anthony Caples, Tammy Saffold, Terri Alexander, Marilyn Noll and DeAnna Tharpe.


BCDI-Milwaukee has been active in the Milwaukee for the over twenty-five years with a focus in the areas of Advocacy, Health, Literacy and Parenting. BCDI-Milwaukee has developed significant partnerships in the Milwaukee community such as Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Children’s Service Society of Wisconsin, National Black Child Development Institute and Pritzker Children’s Initiative.


Wanda Montgomery, President Emeritus shared that BCDI-Milwaukee is positioned to take on additional work and be a voice for Black children and their families as they roll out their campaign #SavingBlackBabies. We invite the community to join us in our efforts!
